The distance to Soekarno Hatta International Airport is 31km while to Jakarta City is a mere 10km.

Indisch Classicism style of colonial architecture.

Since my flight home was later in the afternoon,I made a brief stopover in Tajung Priok to catch the airport bus.
Tanjung Priok Bus Station is a major transport hub in the North of Jakarta.
It was very convenient to travel in the local buses as they were very well linked to every corner of Java Island.
The word Tanjung means Cape and Periok means pot or wok.
I took a local green body bus near the Tanah Abang Train Station to Tanjung Priuk but for travellers staying near Sarinah Plaza,just go to the Sarinah Halt and hop into the busway which requires changing of bus at certain intersection.
Tanjung Priuk Bus Terminal do not have specific platforms for buses so one has to scout around and read the sign displayed on the buses.
Minivan angkut is a very covenient way to move round Tanjung Priok city and to visit Ancol Dream Park (Taman Impian Jaya Ancol), entrance ticket fee to the complex Rupiah15,000 per person which consists of Dunia Fantasi (Fantasy world) with ticket fee Rupiah150,000 per person in week days and Rupiah180,000 per person in week end-Sunday-and-Holiday, Atlantis Water Adventure (Waterboom) ticket fee Rupiah100,000 per person, Seaworld (for the largest aquarium in South East Asia), Gelanggang Samudra (Ocean Park) animals show ticket fee Rupiah90,000 per person, Fantastic Multimedia (Laser) Show ticket fee Rupiah50,000per person, resorts, hotel, beach, marina, and great restaurants.
It's one of the biggest park in Asia.
Ojek is a motorcycle that transport passengers and cost around Rupiah 5,000.
DAMRI airport bus is parked just across the train station in Tanjung Priok bus terminal.
It is a large airconditioned bus and departure is half hourly.
Current standard fare is Rupiah 20,000.

Travellers will never miss Tanjung Priok port if one intends to take a cruise in one of the ferry ships to destinations like Padang, Tanjung Pandan (Pulau Belitung), Surabaya, Semarang, Muntok (Pulau Bangka), Belawan, Kijang (Pulau Bintan) and Batam.
Services on the Lambelu to Padang and the Kelud to Batam (near Singapore) are of most interest to travellers.
To Kalimantan, the Lawit ship goes via Tanjung Pandan to Pontianak.
A number of Pelni boats go to Makassar (Sulawesi) via Semarang or Surabaya, but there are no direct services.
Pelni ships all arrive at and depart from Pelabuhan Satu (Dock No 1) at Tanjung Priok, 13km northeast of the city centre.
Other passenger ships also go from Dock No 1 to Pulau Bintan and Pulau Batam, from where it is just a short ferry ride to Singapore.
A small but reasonably comfortable air-con hydrofoil that seats up to 300 passengers leaves Tanjung Priok on Saturday at noon and sails to Tanjung Pandan (150,000Rp, 12 hours) onto Pulau Belitung, before continuing on to Tanjung Pinang (200,000Rp) and Batam (200,000Rp).
Count on a 24-hour trip to Batam. In the reverse direction it leaves Thursday.

Another article on the front page is about Amoy( girls) from Singkawang or Sambas in West Kalimantan that has landed from KM Mabuhay ship in Tanjung Priok but were caught by local police.
They left Sambas at 12 midnight and arrived here at 8pm following day.
Cungkok means entertainment girls.
The 43 rural girls some were underaged(15 of them) and fair skin command double the price in the local bars and karaoke outlets.
Jakarta has an enriched nightlife in the many bars and karaokes.
I have seen Southeast Asia's biggest redlight area at a place nicknamed Dolly in Surabaya,Jawa Timur.
The airport bus left Terminal Tanjung Priok via Tol Tanjung Priok, Tol Sedyatmo and on to Bandara Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
