There was a Chinese Warrior God or "Kuan Kong" altar guarding at the main entrance to the ticketing counters.
It was still raining heavily closed to midnight when I reached the terminal on the 6:00pm bus from Trat town.
It would be pointless to hunt for a guesthouse at this hour of the day so I decided to spend my night at the bus station.
The main waiting hall seats were limited and fully occupied with some local travellers waiting to catch an early bus for the following day.
Behind the main hall were the buses platforms and some of the snack stalls were already closed. There were comfortable long concrete benches that allowed me to stretch my aching body and had a short nap.
As early as 3:00am some of the night buses have arrived and a ticketing conductor will be moving around asking for our destination.
On display near the ticketing booths were the destinations covered and the bus fares.

Bus to Rongkluea Market,a border town near the Cambodian border with Poipet which is 230 km from Bangkok.
The bus will stop right near the border.
At Survanarbumi airport there are also direct Rong Kluea buses.
Rongkluea or Baan Klong Leuk Border Market is in Aranyaprathet district of Sa Kaeo Province.
This is a very huge market of recycled, used and new clothings, sneakers, shoes.electronics and many other kind of wares.
In front of the 7-11 convenience store just beside the bus station is a stall selling fried noodles called "mee krob" priced at Baht 30.
It tasted a bit saltish and sour. There were no meat involved and it's completely vegetarian.
A pleasant Thai snack and appetizer for night supper.
The Sukhumvit Road area is one of Bangkok's most exciting place for nightlife.
There were many restaurants, clubs, bars, discos and lots of leisure time activities to enjoy. It was still bustling with activities even till the wee hours in the morning.
Sukhumvit Road is also regarded as the longest road in the world stretching nearly 400km starting near Phloen Chit Road and continuing near the coastal area till Trat Province.
Four main upmost distinctive entertainment areas are Nana especially among the Sois(sidelane),Asoke,Emporium and Thonglor.
